Mystery Commission
Another commission this week for an anniversary of a mystery couple who I'll keep anonymous. While I was working on this my daughter (4 years old) was (unbeknownst to me) copying my drawing as I painted it. When she was done she showed it to me. I asked her where the guy was and she said she left him out because she doesn't like boys. But if you look close you can see that she has the woman, the window in the background and some of the letters from the neon sign. In a few more years maybe she'll be able to ink my backgrounds....

Those are both fantastic!
Wow is that great.
question: do you paint over your pencils and then ink over THAT? or what...
I'm looking to paint my next book and have no idea of how I could be tackling it.
Thanks!
I usually pencil, then ink and then erase the pencils and paint over the top of the inks with water color. If I'm not inking, usually I pencil really lightly and then paint over the pencils (so the pencils won't show as much). Good luck! Painting a whole book is a lot of work! I'd love to see it!
Painting a whole book IS a lot of work, which is why this one will only be 40 pages. :)
I know myself enough to know I'd go crazy attempting anything longer.
If you're going to be at SPX next year I'll be sure to give you a copy.
